Handpicked Wines’ Capella Vineyard in the Mornington Peninsula is an incubator site for innovative sustainability practices in viticulture. Acquired by Handpicked Wines in 2013, this idyllic vineyard property now produces a selection of highly acclaimed Chardonnay and Pinot Noir wines in the Handpicked stable.
To celebrate 10 years since Handpicked acquired the property and its evolution into a premier site for sustainable viticulture, Blend was briefed to bring together Australia’s leading wine voices to the Capella property to experience its innovative practices first hand, along with getting an in-depth look at the winery’s latest 2021 vintage releases.
The Campaign
Blend produced an immersive famil to the Mornington Peninsula for 15 of the country’s top wine critics. Every moment of the journey would consider premium touch points to showcase this prestige, Australian wine brand:
- Premium shuttle from Melbourne to the Mornington Peninsula
- Upon arrival, guests took part in a Smoking Ceremony as part of the Welcome To Country
- Custom branded gum boots and sun hats provided protection from the elements and protection for the certified organic vines
Guests took part in a guided tour with the Handpicked Wines team to immerse in the exceptional quality Pinot Noir and Chardonnay vines, teeming with natural life thanks to the regenerative viticulture taking place on the property.
The group was then taken through a masterclass tasting of Handpicked’s latest 2021 vintage releases, followed by a four-course lunch paired with a wider selection of award-winning wines.
The Results
